The Farmer's Room - Suite 3 at LA CASA MEDIEVALE IN PONTREMOLI

THE SUITE 3

Located on the -1 level of la casa medievale, the 'Farmer's Room' was originally a space where agricultural tools were stored, food was kept, and animals such as rabbits and chickens were housed. Today, it is a spacious Suite of 24 square metres in total and offers:

A triple bedroom with a double bed and a single sofa bed;
A 32" TV;
A desk area and a reading corner;
An open wardrobe;
A private bathroom with a large shower;
A large outdoor terrace for exclusive use.

To ensure maximum comfort throughout the year, the room is equipped with air conditioning for the summer and independent heating for the winter, both through radiators and a heat pump, at the discretion of the guests. This allows easy adjustment of the personal comfort level based on individual preferences.

The true gem of this suite is the large outdoor terrace of about 25 square metres for the exclusive use of guests, overlooking the city, the Pontremoli countryside, the surrounding mountains, the characteristic historic bridge 'della Crësa', and the Verde river. The southwest exposure of the room and terrace ensures excellent sunlight exposure until late evening.

THE HISTORY OF SUITE 3

Located on the -1 level of La Casa Medievale, the «Farmer's room» was formerly a room where agricultural tools, foodstuffs and where animals such as rabbits and chickens were housed. There were in fact inside a structure enclosed by netting used as a chicken coop and cages for raising rabbits. The shelves for storing food were protected at the ends by butcher's broom branches to keep rats away

from the food.

The walls of this room, like much of the entire house, still showed black marks from nthe fire that devastated Pontremoli in 1495 at the hands of Charles VIII's Swiss troops. No one since that time has laid a had on these charred walls until our restoration, which left them in part purposely in evidence in a few places in the house as historical evidence.
Finally, right on the terrace there was once a large fig tree that provided sustenance with its fruit along with vegetables from the gardens that stretched from there down to the river.
