AT LA CASA MEDIEVALE IN PONTREMOLI

THE SUITE 1

Located on the ground floor of La Casa Medievale, as well as on its highest level, the "Baker's House" was inhabited until the first half of the 20th century by a family that gave birth to one of the most renowned historical pastry chefs in the city.

Today, it is a 52 sqm apartment composed of:

Entrance sitting room with 2 sofa beds and a 43” Smart TV, topped by a distinctive, albeit low, vaulted ceiling;
Fully equipped kitchen (refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, kettle, electric oven, and induction hob);
Bathroom with a spacious shower;
Double bedroom with a desk area, 32” TV, and an open wardrobe.

The kitchen and bedroom are equipped with air conditioning for the summer, and the entire apartment is independently heated in winter, both with radiators and heat pump, at the discretion of the guests, allowing them to adjust the level of personal comfort as desired.

The bedroom and kitchen face south-west and have excellent exposure to the sun until late, with views of the city, the countryside of Pontremoli, the mountains, the historic "della Crësa" bridge, and the Verde river.

THE HISTORY OF SUITE 1

Located on the ground floor of La Casa Medievale, as well as on its highest level, the »Confectioner’s House" was inhabited until the mid-20th century by a family that gave birth to one of the most renowned historical confectioners in the town of Pontremoli. In the years after World War II, it was then abandoned like most of the houses of Piagnaro, as, with the advent of the "new town," people wanted a new house with all the modern comforts in the expanding part across the Verde Creek since there were neither toilets (except for a communal latrine at the entrance) nor running water in this house.

Inside, its original old terracotta floors still show, after the long restoration, the traces of the axe blows that were inflicted to split the wood to put in the stove for heating in the old kitchen, now become the bedroom.
The grouting of the broken floor is purposely intended to testify to the former life of this dwelling.
